Just found out the reason behind the closure of Cafe Galilee in Pasir Ris library.

Apparently, there's a new manager around here, and he felt that a library isn't a real library if a cafe is present here.

Hello, the cafe isn't right smack in the middle of the library. It is merely an extension. EXTENSION. And that is the most ridiculous theory I've ever heard.
So a flat chested girl isn't a girl because she has no boobs. And a fat guy isn't a real guy because he has moobs.

Whatever is running in his/ her head right now, I hope this sinks into the thick corporate head of his: when he demolishes the cafe, he's not robbing us patrons of a cafe. He's robbing some of us of our childhood memories. I grew up eating spaghetti here. He's robbing us of a place to STUDY. (even Macs has put up that tacky "no studying in restaurant premises" sign. FYI, you're no restaurant, you're a fast food CHAIN) He's robbing a place for families and friends to bond (had many crazy moments here with Kylie, Xin Xin, Vivian), because I know there's a group of auties who always gather at the same spot every Sunday to gossip. He's robbing so many opportunities. Someone put this thief to jail already!
And the manager, one I've grown quite fond of (pretty sure the feeling's vice versa, she knows I'm a regular), is going to be shifted to the cafe in Woodlands. WOODLANDS. And she lives in Pasir Ris! Might as well just send her over to Malaysia right?

I never thought this would ever happen. I envisioned bringing my children here, saying "this was where mummy used to study". (okay I made that up) But I do regret not knowing the employees I see so often better.

So what's next? Are you gonna shut down the cafe in Marine Parade library next? Are you going to to acquire every single cafe in Singapore till you're satisfied??

And I'll miss seeing the regular patrons too. Like I met my soul sister there. And there's always this intellectual Indian dude working here. And that tall quiet-looking nerd who always happens to sit near me.
